Trouble On The Horizon

Just like Gandalf gazes out and sees trouble brewing in Mordor, I am beginning to get worried, after the last 30 seconds. We get a glimpse of the dark tower, hear Gollum being tortured and mentioning the shire, and the nine Black Riders leaving through the front gate. Is this the best way to introduce the riders? We just had a brilliant scene with the Ring, where so much is told without actually saying it. Now we have a sloppy transition to nine guys in black capes riding on horses. Shoddy.
