You’d think he would warn Frodo not to use the ring, but that’s a small quibble. I honestly don’t remember what Gandalf might have said in the book in this situation. What I do know is that this is perhaps the last moment in the film when I believed that this would be the greatest movie I had ever seen. It’s all seriously downhill from here on out.
