Turns out Mario isn’t so bad. A little annoying when you want to fall asleep, but his heart’s in the right place.

He also seems quite perceptive, to notice that the Moms was happier after Himself died.

Each episode that doesn’t involve a completely new character helps to make the over picture a little clearer, so I think I need to relax on the criticism. It might be helpful for me to read a bit more between posts, not only because at this rate it’s going to be 2021 before I finish this experiment, but also to alleviate some of the pressure of needing something to write about when I have so many questions and so few answers.

This is obviously be design on the part of DFW, and doling out the relevant information is a tried and true technique for creating suspense. The author forces you to ask “What the hell is going on?” while promising to provide answers on the next page, but only if you’ve been a good boy.

I’ve been a good boy, DFW. Now please explain what is wrong with Hal.

Vocab Word: Insomniac Don’t be an idiot Mario. If you don’t get the joke, don’t laugh. You’ll just look like a fool because they always know when you’re faking it.
