Why LOTR Sucks: A Wizard Is Never Late

In general, I think you’re best served sticking as closely to a classic as possible when adapting it to the screen. The only changes that should be made are ones necessitated by the shortening of the narrative. But when Gandalf says “A wizard is never late,” I have to admit it’s a nice piece of dialogue. Of course my spider sense immediately began tingling because their greeting, especially the close-ups on their near weepy faces, seemed overly sentimental. Warning: danger ahead!

Credit where credit is due: Sir Ian McKellen is the perfect Gandalf.
