Why LOTR Sucks: The Shire

Let me be the first to give credit where credit is due. The movies look great. There’s no doubt that Jackson got that right. I love the Shire. I love the set design. I love the character design. Everything, for the most part, looks exactly how I imagined it would look when I was reading the books back in third grade. I’ll be interested in seeing how the special effects hold up ten years later, but I don’t remember them being anything less than acceptable.

Too bad about the script though.
