Why LOTR Sucks: Deja Vu

I’m assuming this scene wasn’t in the theatrical version, but now we see Gandalf entering the archives and learning about the ring of power. It even cuts to the earlier montage and mentions Isulder. Do we need both these scenes? Obviously not. Do we need either of these scenes? Debatable, but if one was going to be cut out, I’d lose the opening montage.
