Why Palm Springs Is The Best Movie Of 2020

There are a lot of movies I haven’t watched yet, thanks to the Pandemic, but of the 2020 movies I’ve watched so far, Palm Springs is my favorite. And after everything is said and done, I’d be surprised if it weren’t one of my favorites of the decade.

(By the way, this has nothing to do with Palm Springs, but I’m currently listening to Has Been, by William Shatner. This is genuinely a great album.* Maybe admitting this proves that I have no idea what I’m talking about. Or just maybe it proves I have the greatest taste in the world.)

Anyway, Palm Springs was a transcendent movie that came out during the worst year in living memory. You cross Lonely Island with Groundhog Day and hallucinatory dinosaurs and dick tattoos and a crossbow-wielding JK Simmons, and you can have all my money.

I mean, they had me at dick tattoos.

*I mean this unironically, I swear.
