The Most Anticipated Movies Of 2021

Hey everyone, here’s a look at the movies I’m most excited about in the next year. Of course that’s assuming things don’t keep getting worse in terms of the virus. At least a couple of these movies were scheduled for 2020, but hey, what are you going to do?

The movies on my list:

Don’t Look Up A Netflix movie I’d never heard of until a week ago, when I saw this pretty sweet trailer for all of the streaming platform’s movies for 2021. Leo and J-Law making eyes at each other on a cargo plane definitely has my attention, plus support from Meryl Streep, Timothee Chalemet, Cate Blanchett, Chris Evans, and Jonah Hill. What a cast!

Dune I have never seen the David Lynch movie (as much as I love Sting, it always seemed like a campy Star Wars ripoff), and had never read the book until last year. When I saw Denis Villenueve was directing, that piqued my interest. Turns out the novel is amazing!

The Green Knight Do you know who David Lowery is? He’s possibly my favorite young(ish) director working today, and A Ghost Story maybe be my favorite movie of the 2010s. Check out this clip of Rooney Mara eating a pie, and you might begin to understand. In any case, I’m expecting a cross between Guy Ritchie and Midsommar.

Judas And The Black Messiah I am a big fan of Lakeith Stanfield. Atlanta. Sorry To Bother You. The Photograph. He’s got star quality, and hopefully this movie is what makes him a household name. Also, I am guessing this will be the best movie about Black Panthers ever.

Top Gun: Maverick Why not just call this movie “They’re Called Orders.”

And that’s without even mentioning a Marvel movie. With a double slate of movies in store (hopefully), 2021 should really be historic.

As long as Mike Pence doesn’t fuck everything up again.
