Sorry, I read the next section (quite long by the way) but real life intervened and I haven’t been able to write about it for a few days.

I don’t have a lot to say about this episode (or if I did, I’ve subsequently forgotten about it) but it did involve Hal and his fellow upperclassmen holding court with their young proteges.

I did notice some further confirmation for my theory that one of the major themes is addiction and people justifying it to themselves.
