Our government is winning the race to the first weaponizable laser. This can’t happen, loyal followers! While I’ve been busy concentrating on my robot army and time machine, the National Ignition Facility has been busy working on their laser weapon.
As the article on Space.com reports:
“The National Ignition Facility (NIF) delivered more than 500 trillion watts (terawatts or TW) of power during its historic test shot on July 5 — about 1,000 times more power than the entire United States uses at any given time. That power came from 1.85 megajoules of energy that represent about 100 times as much as what any other laser can sustain.”
My friends* have been trying to console me by pointing out that the United States government is way better funded than my basement laboratory, but I’m unwilling to make any excuses. I blame you, my readers, for not contributing enough to the effort. I urge** you to work harder and start making some real progress.
*My henchmen and lackeys
Because what good is a robot army and a time machine if they don’t have powerful lasers as well? ARGGHGHGHHGH!
That is all.
