Every April 28, we will showcase the great historical events which took place on April 28.<\/p>\n<p>On April 28, in the year 1192, Conrad I of Jerusalem was assassinated.  Conrad was an Italian nobleman and participant in the Third Crusade.  He was also the Marquis De Montferrat.<\/p>\n<p>Conrad&#8217;s death came during a time of war between Christendom and the Kingdom of Islam, led by Saladin.  Scholars attribute the current rise of terrorism in the Middle East to Conrad&#8217;s assassination in 1192.<\/p>\n<p>Also, Saddam Hussein was born on April 28th.<\/p>\n<p>This has been <strong>This Day in History<\/strong>.
