She laboriously mastered \u201cDaDa\u201d and nothing more.<\/p>\n<p>The doctor and my wife talk about tubes and advances in the technology of tubes.<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019m haunted by an image I haven\u2019t seen yet\u2014Sam unconscious, on a white hospital sheet awaiting surgery.
