Kate shifts, sweat dampening her armpits.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cInteresting,\u201d Dorothea mutters.<\/p>\n<p>Suddenly, a sound like beating wings erupts from the fireplace. The candles extinguish and darkness swallows the room.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cKate!\u201d a familiar voice exclaims. Her mother, murdered exactly three years ago, channels through the fortune teller\u2019s throat.<\/p>\n<p>Kate starts to cry.
