That would\u2019ve been possible had there been no war.<\/p>\n<p>Priceless paintings and other expensive belongings were sold to have food on the table, except Annika\u2019s violin and case. Her father didn\u2019t have the heart to sell them.<\/p>\n<p>The war had ruined Annika\u2019s family and many other Jewish Germans throughout the country.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s not safe to live here.
