More fires burn this year than ever,\u201d a Ngungawal elder said. \u201cWe must appease our mother. We have perpetual grief, but the time is to focus on the mother, not us.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Heads nodded.<\/p>\n<p>Meeting was over and nothing was resolved.
