And, we all knew that the officer, who was coming around the corner, couldn\u2019t see him.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The priest raised the Glock and fired, hit the kid square in the chest, knocked him flat.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The guy in charge whistled. \u201cWhy\u2019d you shoot?\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>\u201cThought he had a gun.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>He reran the video. \u201cIt\u2019s an axe\u2014he\u2019s splitting wood.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Everyone could tell the priest felt foolish. No matter. We got on the bus and rode to the shooting range.
