Rain fogged our window.<br \/>\nSomeone outdoors fleeted past us.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCreek flooded road to my cabin,\u201d an elderly gent spoke as we both<br \/>\nexited. \u201cWhy are you here?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>I wiped my eyeglasses pretending not to hear. \u201cCan you please walk me<br \/>\nto my room.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He laughed. \u201cWhy, you scared?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI saw a prowler earlier.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He obliged.<\/p>\n<p>Next day\u2019s news revealed that a bear had to be tranquilized on the<br \/>\ngrounds, taken back into the woods.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>From Guest Contributor Krystyna Fedosejevs<\/p>\n<p>Krystyna writes poetry, fiction, and creative nonfiction.
