Stevie picked a package of pink hangers. One by one, items landed in the shopping cart. Mother pushed. Around the big superstore they went. Cart three-quarters filled when they finished.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDon\u2019t they need new clothes?\u201d grandmother asked anxiously.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey don\u2019t sell clothes here,\u201d mother answered.<\/p>\n<p>Grandmother frowned. \u201cYou should have another colour. Pink is for girls.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut I like pink,\u201d Stevie answered.<\/p>\n<p>Mother asked \u201cwhy not\u201d and turned her face the other way.<\/p>\n<p>Where was I?
