Alexander’s Eastern campaign had gone well until now. But Bactria was different. He sat astride his beloved horse and studied the valley below. These lands were ruled by tribes and the fighters were unpredictable, as was the weather. Would he be able to rule this land once he had subdued it?
General Gromov looked back across the Afghanistan border and sighed. The last of his Russian troops were safely out. Nine years and thousands of Soviet deaths later, there was no victory.

One Hundred years in the future a time machine is built to enlist war troops. After the resistance, America was angry as the resistance killed. The Americans hijacked a plane, so the English grabbed an attack plane. The American General said, ‘We can’t shoot it down!’ His Major had an idea.
The Major said, ‘Go above the plane and drop soldiers on it!’ The General said to the Major, ‘You are right.’ As the hijacked plane flew he pushed the Major onto the attack plane. The Major’s team took out all of the enemy and both war planes landed safely.

The War Of Walls

One hundred years in the future a time machine is built. Scientists send the machine back to get Native Americans, cowboys and dragons.
The English side with the Native Americans and the Americans with the cowboys. The English build a wall. Using jeeps, tanks, and planes they fight for six years. The cowboys break the wall, but lose the war.
After the war a resistance forms and is sent to New York to disable the tanks controlling the security building which houses the president. Some get away, some are killed.
The President’s last personal, best fighter is promoted to General.

If Milton had a weakness, it was the cold. Anything below room temperature would make him start to shiver uncontrollably and if it got down to freezing, he’d begin vomiting.
Milton knew his comic books though. Every hero had a fatal flaw, his own personal kryptonite, so to speak. Milton’s susceptibility to the cold would be his. Obviously, his mortal enemy, his arch-nemesis, would be a villain who used cold as a weapon. Maybe his name would be General Gelid or something like that.
Sadly for Milton, while he might have a weakness, he didn’t have any discernible super powers.

She had not seen a human before. She had read about them, of course, and heard endless stories from her father, The General. How they had saved the remaining few, bringing them back before Earth finally died.
The humans had not adapted well to their new home. Father said the trauma of what they had done marked their souls, and the majority did not survive long. Sometimes you heard reports, sightings…
He was as clumsy as the books suggested, but his eyes shocked her most. Shapeless, lonely grey eyes. Only regret was left. It was too late for anything else.

General Stern chewed on his tobacco lustily, the last luxury he afforded himself. Once the surrender was completed, there’d be no more tobacco. No more anything, most likely, except a dark cell. They’d probably try him for war crimes. He probably deserved it, too. But if the Battle at the Ridge had played out differently, he’d be a hero rather than a criminal.
It was only after he had submitted to the enemy that the message came through.
Reinforcements are on their way.
The general spit out the nicotine-laced saliva with a bitter grin. It’s funny how things play out.

General Rogers And His Army Of Mindless Zombies

They were a captive audience. Any more captive, and they would have been there against their will.
His charisma clutched at them with a force equal to blunt head trauma. It muddied their minds and stirred up their emotions to a fury. They would follow him into battle. They would commit genocide for him. They would denounce their parents to the secret police, and smile as they recalled the betrayal.
They were his to command, and command them he did.
“Let’s make the most of this beautiful day. Come with me as we travel to the land of Make Believe.”
